Options Question Buying a Put?

The OCC used to automatically exercise if the option was more than .25 in the money. Then it went to a nickel and now it is one cent. It is your responsibility to close the position prior to expiry or deal with the ignment. If you do not want a long option to be exercised you must tell your broker.
